Vermont Highlands beef processing
In 2008 Vermont Highland Cattle company purchased a 5,000 plus square foot meat processing plant in Orleans, Vermont.
The former Comstock facility was previously utilized for meat processing (smoking and fabrication).
Vermont Highland Cattle Company completely remodeled the facility adding state of the art flooring, walls, ventilation, delivery acceptance and beef conveying systems. Additionally, all new equipment was installed including cooling and smoking equipment in addition to cutting and processing equipment. The $500,000 plus renovation and modernization expense resulted in a new, state of the art, USDA approved meat processing plant.
All VHCC meat is now processed, under USDA inspection in this facility which is located centrally to VHCC's six farms in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.
